There was no surprise when 16th ranked DutchDen Helder (4-13) was crushed at home by second ranked Belgian Antwerp Giants (14-3) 103-76 on Saturday. Antwerp looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Den Helder 's players. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Andrew Funk (196-1999, college: Penn State) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and point guard Rasheed Bello (183, college: PFW) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. point guard Reggie Mesidor (183, college: Southeastern) responded with 13 points and 4 assists and guard Bryan Antoine (196-2000, college: Radford) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Antwerp and four Den Helder players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Antwerp maintains second place with 14-3 record behind leader Oostende. Den Helder lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 13 games lost.
